It's Saturday and the departure time for the trek in the Mai Chau valley has come!

The mini bus takes us to the starting point.
On the road, we will make a small stop in the mountains...

1st lunch at a local's home in the village of Sai.

Spring rolls, soups and rice will accompany us at every meal.

Now begins the trek to Ban Hang.

On the road we cross different villages or hamlets, each time the children are delighted to see new faces! Fortunately, they have not been used to begging for candy or pencils! Besides, they don't seem to need them.

We arrive in late afternoon at Ban Hang
Under the house on stilts, we quench our thirst before taking a "good" cold water shower (and no, no hot water there)! 

The meal at the local's home does a lot of good and it is very good... Besides, I will abuse the omelet too much and will be queasy for a week... arfff! 

And yes, we all leave our shoes outside not because of bad smells but because it's the custom!

Our hosts will sleep in the next room, it is in this room that the fire for cooking is located.

Yes that's me, I'm going to brush my teeth outside and in passing I scold the one who stole my camera!

Besides I don't even know who it is anymore.
